- Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Hub - Tuesday, 10 October 2023 @ 10:30 am - Tuesday, 10 October 2023
Join Hub staff and AWEN volunteers for a fundraising coffee morning with delicious home made cakes.
'Letter from America: Welsh emigrants and their correspondence in the 19th century' Bill Jones, Emeritus Professor of Welsh History at Cardiff University, will talk about the letters Welsh emigrants in America in the nineteenth century sent back to family and friends in Wales.
Join AWEN volunteers for a fascinating walk along the Philog, hearing all about the characters who lived there in the past. Places limited so please email awen.cymru@gmail.com to book your place or drop a note into our box at the hub.
Join AWEN volunteers and Coed Caerdydd at the Hub. We will have a leaf mask making workshop and we will be planting bulbs and our new rowan tree. All free. All welcome.
Free Family Fun at the Hub
The annual act of remembrance will take place at the War Memorial on Sunday 12th November at 10.50am. There will be a service at St Mary's Church from 10.15am followed by a march up to the War Memorial. The act of remembrance will be followed by refreshments in the Hub and a chance to see exhibition materials.
Free family fun. Come and make Christmas decorations with lovely ideas from the Hub staff, then decorate our Christmas tree.
Our annual vist from Melingriffith Brass Band and just before Christmas. Come and join in the singing and enjoy minced pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine. The event is free but please bring money to support the Band's charity - The Alzheimer Society.
A weekly walking group meeting at 10.30am- to find out more email awen.cymru@gmail.com or call into the HUB. This will be suitable for anyone who wants to join a sociable walk and get more active. The walks start from Whitchurch Hub on Park Road.
Come to the Knit and Natter group and bring any portable craft - come and share your skills or learn a new one. All welcome to knit,sew, crochet and chat.
Get Drawing is a free weekly drawing group for beginners and experts alike, on Tuesdays at 2.15pm. An hour of informal and uninterrupted creative time. Taking part in creative activities is good for mental health. Materials provided but bring your own if you have them. Take a look at our Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/getdrawingwhitchurch/ The group takes place face to face in the Methodist Church or on Zoom.
It was everyone's favourite toy growing up and now you can let your inner child go wild with a Lego Club for adults each Thursday at 5pm at the Hub.
Our FAN Friends and Neighbours group meets weekly in the community room. If you are feeling lonely or you would like to meet more people locally come along! If you are practising new English skills FAN is a good place to try them out. Phone Sarah on 07880632553 for more information.
